Bert Nienhuis' shovel disc from 1912 - a century of ceramic history

Adri Baarspul, the ceramist, presented the Goedewaagen Ceramics Museum with a royal gift: the shovel disc that was built in 1911 for Bert Nienhuis in the Hagen Art Centre by the patron Karl Ernst Osthaus, when he switched from industrial design to pottery. After his death in 1960, Nienhuis' studio and the disk passed to the young ceramist couple Jan de Rooden and Johnny Rolf. These now internationally renowned ceramists in turn handed the disc over to Adri Baarspul, ceramist in Landsmeer, in 1987. Read more about Bert Nienhuis' shovel disc from 1912 ".
