Haagsche Plateelfabriek Rozenburg 1883 - 1914, Daniël Harkink and other painters from The Hague before 1890

When Plateelfabriek Rozenburg was founded in 1883, the new factory opted for its own, at the time ground-breaking, modern ceramics. This led to the start of an extensive production of tiles, tile plates and tile pictures. Daniël Harkink was a key figure in this process. He helped like-minded young artists get started with tile painting and was also responsible for the decoration techniques.
